And no one can claim to know the Guia circuit on two wheels better than six-time winner Michael Rutter. Rutter shares the record with motorcycle legend ‘Rocket Ron’ Haslam, but has been frustratingly denied a crucial 7th victory to claim the record for himself. 2005 was the last year Rutter won the race, coming close in 2006 in second place. Last year he yet again looked set to break the record, starting in pole position, but was forced down the slip road three laps from the end and finished in a disappointing 11th place. [...]
