Afonso is the little son of Macau’s racing driver André Couto, and he was diagnosed in November with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia, which requires an urgent bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, there’s no compatible donor in Afonso’s family.

Six-year old Afonso is now going through chemotherapy treatment in Porto’s Oncology Institute, in Portugal. His parents André and Graça have moved to Portugal to be with their son and they are counting on your generosity to help them at this painful time. Hundreds of people are already registered as bone marrow donors in Portugal and Macau. A compatible donor hasn’t been found yet, but this campaign will continue as long as there are voluntary donors.
